User InformationIf you intend to use the Chelmer & Blackwater Canal we hope you find the following information helpful.The waterway is operated on behalf of the Proprietors by the Navigation Authority: Essex Waterways Ltd, 3 Norfolk Court, Norfolk Road, Rickmansworth, WD3 1LT Tel (Navigation office): 01245 222025 Fax (Navigation office): 01245 226245 The maximum dimensions for a boat that can navigate through the locks (except the Sea Lock) is 18.28m(60ft) long, 4.87m (16ft) wide, 0.75m(2ft 6in) draft and a height of 1.94m (6ft 5in). SCHEDULE OF CHARGES 2007All charges are subject to a maximum length of 18m and a maximum beam of 4m. Rates beyond these dimensions (Heybridge Basin only), and for off-line and end-of-garden moorings, are by negotiation Long-Term Mooring of Craft Requiring Use of LocksFor a minimum period of three calendar months, the charge per .5m per calendar month is: Basic: £4.75 (As designated at Heybridge Basin and Sandford)Standard: £5.23 (All linear moorings not designated Basic or Premium) Premium: £5.64 (As designated at Heybridge Basin, Paper Mill & Springfield) A minimum length of 5.5m is charged. Lengths rounded up to nearest .5m. Whole months charged charge for current month applies for mooring occupied prior to 15th day of month. Short-Term Mooring of Craft Requiring Use of LocksFor a maximum period of three calendar months the charge is, for up to:24 hours: £20.00 One week: £40.00 One calendar month £100.00 Craft over 9m in length subject to 50% surcharge. Trailboats Requiring Use of LocksThese charges include unlimited use of the Paper Mill slipway (during business hours) but no overnight mooring: Six months: £120.00Annual: £180.00 Registration of Craft Not Requiring Moorings nor Use of Locks
