Welcome to The Waterways of Chelmsford .
Over recent months I have been building this website to help publicise what is happening on and around the waterways of Chelmsford. From this page you can access our map of the Chelmer and Blackwater Canal and our Whats On feature. We have details of charges and access to Heybridge Basin for visiting vessels.
Whilst up to now I have managed from my own resources I do need help from others to complete the site. There are two main areas where I need help with from you my readers.
I need photographs of the waterways. Some up to date ones would be useful as, if you look at the site, you can see there are a number of blank pages just waiting for pictures. I also need historical pictures that have not been previously published particularly from the 1950is and 60is when the canal was at the end of its working life and before the flood scheme in Chelmsford installed the horrid concrete banks.
