The navigation runs between Maldon and Heybridge. It is crossed by the new A414 Maldon bypass and several B roads. There are a number of places to park in the area for those visiting the navigation.

The Benbridge Hotel a small hotel restaurant is near the navigation and there are several other old pubs in the village accessible from this point of the canal.
